Rodrigo graduated from Tarleton State University with a B.Sc. in Animal Science and a MBAE.in Agricultural Economics from the University of del Valle de Guatemala. His expertise in coffee range from being a coffee grower in Guatemala to purchasing a specialty coffee roasting and commercialization facility in Texas. Rodrigo also served as the Director of Capital at AdventGX, bringing his financial expertise to a variety of projects ranging from technology startup companies to community wide economic development. As a Senior Operations, Finance and Grant Manager, he worked for USAID- RTI Alianzas Multisectorial program that was executed in Central America. Rodrigo also worked for the Inter American Development Bank for almost a decade, were he contributed in the elaboration and management of many Multi-Sector Technical Cooperation and loans for Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador. He also has worked in agribusiness and financial business management for over than a decade. |

Roger W-W-W Garrett is a local radio "DJ" who was the morning drive personality on 98.3 FM KORA. You may most remember the Roger & Roy" Morning show on KORA from 2004 to 2012.Roger was one of the "Breakfast Flakes" on 92 Rock KTSR from 1993 to 2002, along with Jay Socol news and Tom Turbiville sports. In radio broadcasting for 54 years, Roger was a #1 rated personality on 104 KRBE in Houston and KHFI-FM in Austin. This month, Roger launched his "dream station" online; it's called RokJok.fm, Classics that Rock! Playing rock and top 40 songs from the eighties. He is "live worldwide" 7am-9am every morning, Monday through Friday. Roger was inducted into the Texas Radio Hall of Fame in 2017. Away from the microphone, Roger is a family man with four daughters and four grandchildren. He has worked with several non-profits, including United Way, Habitat for Humanity, and the Brazos Food Bank. He hosted a mobile produce pantry in Robertson county twice a month for three years. He served as a teacher, Deacon, and ordained Elder at First Presbyterian church in Bryan for 10 years, And for the last 20 plus years, he has served as the preacher at the First Presbyterian Church in Calvert. |

Jazmine Chavez serves as the Office Administrator for The Bridge Ministries Food Pantry. She recently graduated from Texas A&M with a Masters degree in Public Service Administration with a concentration in nonprofit management. In her role, she assists with all special projects, grant writing, helps run the weekly distributions and manages their social media. The Bridge Ministries is a local nonprofit that has been helping alleviate food insecurity in Texas since 2010. They serve approximately 500 hungry families on a monthly basis and have goals to expand their reach and provide more resources to our community. Since Jazmine joined the team, The Bridge Ministries has been able to serve the BCS community with additional household items and obtain new corporate sponsorships. Jazmine is originally from Houston and has big dreams of running her own overseas nonprofit one day. |

All three clubs contributed to charter a bus for transporation of all RYLA students. This event started at 3pm at the Post Oak Mall. Travel time was 2.5 hours. Jennifer Hathaway and Elena Scoggins volunteered to chaperone. During the travel time we played games that encouraged communication and engaement with each other, this provided an opportunity for the students to create bonds and be petter prepared for the leadership challenges presented at RYLA, The return trip was full of insight, key take aways and revelations. 2 vounteers 6 hours $433 from each club plus, $40 tip and $70 for snakes and prized |

Book - How sex shapes governance and national security worldwide

Dr. Valerie Hudson, University Distinguished Professor, joined the faculty of the Bush School in 2012 as the holder of the George H. W. Bush Chair. An expert on international security and foreign policy analysis as well as gender and security, she received her PhD in political science at The Ohio State University and comes to Texas A&M University from a senior faculty position at Brigham Young University. Hudson directs the Bush School’s Program on Women, Peace, and Security. In 2009, Foreign Policy named her one of the top 100 Most Influential Global Thinkers. Her coauthored book Bare Branches: Security Implications of Asia’s Surplus Male Population, and the research it presents, received major attention from the media with coverage in the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Financial Times, Washington Post, BBC, CNN, and numerous other outlets. The book also received two national book awards. Another coauthored book, Sex and World Peace, published by Columbia University Press, was named by Gloria Steinem as one of the top three books on her reading list. Another award-winning book, with Patricia Leidl, is The Hillary Doctrine: Sex and American Foreign Policy, published in June 2015. Her newest coauthored book is The First Political Order: How Sex Shapes Governance and National Security Worldwide (Columbia University Press, 2020). She was also named a Distinguished Scholar of Foreign Policy Analysis as well as a Distinguished Scholar of Political Demography and Geography by the International Studies Association. Dr. Hudson has developed a nation-by-nation database on women, the WomanStats Database, that has triggered both academic and policy interest (the latter includes its use by both the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee and various agencies of the United Nations). Using this data, Hudson and her co-principal investigators from the WomanStats Project have published a wide variety of empirical work linking the security of women to the security of states, with research appearing in International Security, American Political Science Review, Journal of Peace Research, Political Psychology, and Politics and Gender. Hudson served as vice president of the International Studies Association for 2011-2012. She is a founding editorial board member of Foreign Policy Analysis, and also serves or has served on the editorial boards of The American Political Science Review, Politics and Gender, the American Journal of Political Science, and International Studies Review. My name is Cathy Carpio, and I am the Family Resource Center Coordinator at Project Unity. I was raised in Bryan, TX, and have been with Project Unity for 7 years. Through this time, I have made very valuable connections with the members of our community. On a daily basis, I help coordinate services for community clients, maintain the food pantry, as well as ensuring our Family Resource Center is equipped with the services needed.

Randall Light, MD, Randy, is from Cedar Hill, Texas. He is married to Irene Dirksen Light. They have 3 children and 14 grandchildren who know them as Nana and Papa. They live in College Station, Texas. Randy earned an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and his doctor of medicine degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston, Texas. After completing a residency in neurology at UTMB, he became the first neurologist to practice in Bryan-College Station, Texas. He practiced consultative neurology for 32 years. In 1979 Randy became interested in photography. He has attended photography short courses, read numerous photography books, and explored many photographic subjects. He found a photography mentor who provided support and feedback. When he retired in 2013, he became interested in astrophotography. He has written articles, given talks, and received awards for his astrophotography. He is currently a member of the Brazos Valley Astronomy Club and an advanced astrophotographer. He shares his knowledge of astrophotography with others who are interested in capturing images of near and deep sky objects. Dr. Light writes detailed instructions for capturing beautiful images with a DSLR camera or telescope and provides sample images for each lesson. |

Texas A&M RELLIS: Past, Present and Future

Patrick Yee was born and raised in Sparks, Nevada, but spent 22 years in the United States Navy. After serving 13 years as an enlisted Air Traffic Controller, he earned his commission through the Navy’s Limited Duty Officer (LDO) program where he spent 9 years as an Air Traffic Control Officer. His Duty Stations included Naval Air Station Key West, USS John F. Kennedy (CV-67), USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN-69), Naval Air Station Patuxent River, Naval Air Technical Training Center Pensacola, USS Peleliu (LHA-5), Naval Station Mayport, and USS Carl Vinson (CVN-70). In 2022, he retired from the Navy as a Lieutenant, earning various military decorations that include multiple Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, Good Conduct Medals, Global War on Terrorism Medals, National Defense Medal, and numerous unit and individual awards. Patrick joined the Texas A&M RELLIS team in October of 2022 as the Assistant Director of Operations to help start and build their unmanned aviation program. He and his wife, Brittany, have been married for 23 years and have started their post-military life on their ranch in Marquez, TX and have 3 adult boys. |

Lynn Clary Yeager was raised in Bryan, a member of the last graduating class of Stephen F. Austin High School and a proud member of TAMU class of 1975. After a 36 year career in banking and insurance services, Lynn realized her goal of serving her community after becoming the Executive Director of The Prenatal Clinic in June 2010. Lynn feels that working in a non-profit organization is more than just a job...it becomes one of the best parts of your life. While many non-profits experience tragic events, outcomes at The Prenatal Clinic are most often a time of happiness for both the baby’s family and The Prenatal Clinic’s staff. Being able to help a mom bring a healthy baby into this world is an amazing blessing for us. Lynn has 2 sons, Sam and Matt, his wife Ashley and most importantly 6 year old, Truett and 2 year old Cordell. |
