Brazos Valley Cares
Hailing from South Texas, Texas A& M University was my first "home away from home". I am a proud member of the Class of 1994. While at Texas A&M, I earned my degree in Kinesiology and met my husband, LtCol John Fleming, USMC Retired. My husband proudly served our great country as a United States Marine Corps Officer for 20+ years. I had the honor and privilege of being by his side from Officer Candidate School through multiple deployments, seven duty stations, and retirement. I greatly miss our Marine Corps community and the many families that we were stationed with and that we served while on active duty. When we moved back to the Bryan/College Station area, I was introduced to Brazos Valley Cares. Brazos Valley Cares provides vital resources for Veterans and their loved ones, and I am honored to continue to serve our local Veteran community through BVC. I have served on the Board of Brazos Valley Cares for 7 years and currently serve as Chairman of the Board. I am also an event planner and a PADI Certified Scuba Diving Professional. Additionally, I have volunteered 500+ hours with Courtney Cares – the Courtney Grimshaw Equine Assisted Services Initiative and am co-facilitating an Equine Assisted Anxiety Class.
